
Betsy Baker, an MSU alumnus and the star of the cult film, The Evil Dead, will be on campus for a week of activities surrounding this landmark horror film. The two major events are: Evil Dead: The Musical put on by the MSU Department of Theatre (MSUDOT); and the East Lansing Film Festival will hold a free screening of the movie, The Evil Dead, directed by former Michigan State University film student, Sam Raimi. This activity is sponsored in part by the Arts Council of Greater Lansing.
Betsy Baker, a successful Los Angeles actress and former Michigan resident, will offer personal commentary on the movie and the musical. Ms. Baker appears nationally at numerous conventions and events related to her film and television career.

MSUDOT and ELFF will offer numerous opportunities for community audiences to hear the trials and tribulations of creating history. Her work with close friend Sam Raimi (former MSU student), as well as her successful film and television career, will serve as the basis for her unique residency.

Friday October 15: Actress Betsy Baker appears in MSU Homecoming Parade
Monday, October 18 7:30 PM: Free screening of The Evil Dead - Room 147 in the Comm Arts Building on the MSU Campus. No reservations necessary. Q and A with Ms. Baker and other guests to follow the screening.
Tuesday, October 19 7:00 PM: Free Community "Acting for the Camera" Class with Ms. Baker, ROOM TBA. No reservations necessary.
Wednesday, October 20 7:30 PM: Performance of Evil Dead: The Musical, 7:30 PM, Pasant Theatre, Wharton Center, with Q and A with Ms. Baker and cast and crew follows the performance. Discount vouchers for this evening's performance will be distributed at the screening and class.
